Općenito o časopisu

Cardiologia Croatica (ISSN tiskanog izdanja 1848-543X; ISSN mrežnog izdanja 1848-5448; DOI: 10.15836) indeksirani je dvojezični časopis Hrvatskoga kardiološkog društva koji izlazi kao dvomjesečno izdanje. Časopis objavljuje sljedeće vrste priloga iz područja kardiologije: znanstvene i stručne radove, pregledne radove, kratka i prethodna priopćenja, izlaganja i sažetke sa skupova, vijesti, prikaze knjiga, pisma uredniku i ostale priloge.

Svi prilozi mogu biti pisani na hrvatskom i/ili engleskom jeziku. Autori iz Republike Hrvatske mogu poslati prilog na hrvatskom i/ili engleskom jeziku, dok autori izvan Republike Hrvatske trebaju poslati prilog na engleskom jeziku. U slučaju objave priloga, trošak prijevoda članka osigurat će časopis.

Pri slanju priloga, u popratnom pismu, potrebno je navesti:

• naziv priloga
• puna imena i prezimena svih autora
• izjavu da rezultati u prilogu nisu objavljeni nigdje do sada te da tekst priloga nije u postupku recenzije ili postupku objave u nekom drugom časopisu
• razloge zbog kojih autor smatra da bi prilog bio zanimljiv čitateljima časopisa Cardiologia Croatica
• mišljenje o kojoj je vrsti priloga riječ
• me i prezime, punu poštansku adresu, telefonski broj te e-mail adresu autora koji će komunicirati s Uredništvom časopisa Cardiologia Croatica.

Uredništvo

Radovi se šalju u Uredništvo časopisa Cardiologia Croatica preko e-mail adrese kardio@kardio.hr. Svaki prilog koji primi Uredništvo časopisa Cardiologia Croatica pregledava glavni urednik. Ako prilog ne zadovoljava kriterije opisane u Uputama za autore, glavni urednik časopisa rad vraća autoru. Radovi koji zadovoljavaju uvjete bit će upućeni na recenziju. Svi zaprimljeni radovi prolaze kroz isti proces recenzije bez obzira na zemlju podrijetla, uz uvjet da zadovoljavaju i prate kriterije opisane u Uputama za autore i ne izlaze iz okvira rada časopisa.

Tijekom cijeloga redakcijskog postupka Cardiologia Croatica slijedi sve smjernice Odbora za etiku obavljivanja (Committee of Publication Ethics – COPE), detaljnije na: https://publicationethics.org/guidance/Guidelines, kao i preporuke ponašanja, izvještavanja, uređivanja i objavljivanja znanstvenih radova u časopisima medicinske tematike koje je objavio Međunarodni odbor urednika medicinskih časopisa (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors – ICMJE), detaljnije na: http://www.icmje.org/recommendations/.

Uredništvo časopisa Cardiologia Croatica osigurava integritet i promiče inovativne izvore podataka temeljenih na dokazima kako bi održalo kvalitetu i osiguralo utjecaj objavljenih radova u časopisu, a s skladu s načelima iznesenima u Sarajevskoj deklaraciji o integritetu i vidljivosti (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5209927/).

Etički kodeks

Časopis Cardiologia Croatica slijedi najviše etičke i profesionalne standarde, što uključuje nultu stopu tolerancije na plagiranje i ostale neprihvatljive oblike ponašanja unutar akademske zajednice. Postupci i djela koji će biti smatrani plagijatima jesu:

• krivotvorenje rezultata istraživanja, njihovo izmišljanje i predočivanje kao da su stvarni
• manipuliranje postupkom istraživanja, namjerna promjena ili izostavljanje podataka
• prisvajanje tuđih rezultata, stajališta ili prosudbi kao svojih, bez navođenja izvora iz kojih su preuzeti
• zloporaba predmeta ili materijala istraživanja, pokušaj zataškavanja eventualnih kršenja etičkih smjernica, lažno predočivanje interesa, kršenje povjerljivosti.

Podrazumijeva se da su svi autori radova suglasni o publikaciji i da nijedan dio rada nije prije publiciranja u časopisu Cardiologia Croatica već bio objavljen u drugom časopisu te da nije u postupku objavljivanja u drugom časopisu.

Rad objavljen u časopisu Cardiologia Croatica smije se objaviti drugdje bez dopuštenja autora, uredništva i izdavača, uz navod da je već objavljen u časopisu Cardiologia Croatica.

Sukob interesa

Časopis Cardiologia Croatica potiče i podržava sve autore i recenzente da prijave potencijalne sukobe interesa kako bi se osigurala transparentnost pri pripremi i recenziji radova. Prema ICMJE-u, sukob interesa postoji ako autorove (ili institucija u kojoj je autor zaposlen) financijske (zaposlenje, u posjedu dionica, plaćeni honorar), akademske, intelektualne ili osobne veze neprimjereno utječu na njegove odluke (detaljnije objašnjenje dostupno je na mrežnim stranicama ICMJE-a: http://www.icmje.org/conflicts-of-interest/).

Otvoreni pristup

Časopis Cardiologia Croatica jest časopis otvorena pristupa i njegov je sadržaj u cijelosti besplatno dostupan na mrežnim stranicama časopisa.

Autorska prava i licencije

Nakon što je rad prihvaćen autori moraju jamčiti da su sva autorska prava na rukopis prenesena u časopis Cardiologia Croatica. Izdavač (Hrvatsko kardiološko društvo) i suizdavač (Medicinska naklada d. o. o.) ima pravo reproducirati i distribuirati članak u tiskanom i elektroničkom obliku bez traženja autorova dopuštenja.

Svi objavljeni rukopisi podliježu licenciji Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) koja korisnicima omogućuje čitanje, preuzimanje, kopiranje, distribuiranje, ispis, pretraživanje ili povezivanje punih tekstova ovih članaka u bilo kojem mediju ili formatu. Također, korisnici mogu mijenjati tekst uz uvjet da je originalni rad pravilno naveden i bilo kakva promjena pravilno naznačena. Naplata radova

Proces zaprimanja i cjelokupni postupak objave radova u časopisu Cardiologia Croatica je besplatan.

Oprema radova

Uz naziv priloga te puno ime i prezime svih autora, potrebno je navesti ORCID – jedinstvene identifikatore svih istraživača (https://orcid.org/register), kao i pune nazive institucija na hrvatskom i/ili engleskom jeziku. Kada prilog ima više autora, potrebno je označiti autora za dopisivanje za kojeg je potrebno poslati punu poštansku adresu, telefon, fax i e-mail adresu.

Svi kategorizirani prilozi trebaju se sastojati od sažetka (najviše do 250 riječi), ključnih riječi (do 5 riječi), teksta članka koji može uključivati tablice i/ili slikovne prikaze te odjeljka literature.

Tablice, grafovi i slike objavljuju se samo na engleskom jeziku. Slikovne priloge ne slati unutar teksta rukopisa, nego kao zasebni dokument u obliku TIFF, JPG (JPEG) ili PNG, u rezoluciji od najmanje 300 DPI. Iznimno se slikovni prilozi mogu poslati kao PowerPoint ili PDF dokument. Preporučuje se grafove poslati kao Excel dokument.

Regularna duljina teksta, napisana prema uputama International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) (http://www.icmje.org/recommendations/browse/manuscript-preparation/preparing-for-submission.html) i pohranjenog u obliku ime_dokumenta.doc ili ime_dokumenta.docx iznosi do najviše 4500 znakova s razmacima, osim cjelovitih, kategoriziranih članaka koji mogu biti duljine do 9000 znakova. Kategorizacija priloga provodi se prema Uputama za uredništva časopisa koje su dostupne na portalu znanstvenih časopisa Republike Hrvatske „Hrčak” (https://hrcak.srce.hr/index.php?show=text&str=redakcije).

Prije slanja rukopisa preporučuje se i dodatno proučiti Smjernice za autore i prevoditelje koji izdaju znanstvene članke, koje je objavilo EASE (European Association of Science Editors) i na hrvatskom su jeziku dostupne na poveznici https://doi.org/10.20316/ESE.2018.44.e1.hr.

Uredništvo časopisa Cardiologia Croatica ima pravo kraćenja tekstova. Svi objavljeni radovi predočuju stajališta i mišljenja njihovih autora koji preuzimaju punu odgovornost za sve što je izneseno u radu.

Oglašeni promotivni materijal u časopisu Cardiologia Croatica sadržava bitne podatke o lijeku koji su istovjetni cjelokupnom odobrenom sažetku opisa svojstava lijeka te cjelokupnoj odobrenoj uputi o lijeku u skladu s člankom 15. Pravilnika o načinu oglašavanja o lijekovima i homeopatskim proizvodima (Narodne novine, br. 43/2015.). Samo za zdravstvene djelatnike. Uredništvo i izdavač ne snose odgovornost niti jamče za bilo koji od proizvoda ili oglašenih usluga.

Uputa za pisanje referencija

Za pisanje referencija u časopisu Cardiologia Croatica primjenjuje se Vancouverski način citiranja. Referencije dobivaju broj prema mjestu prvog pojavljivanja u tekstu u kojemu se označuju arapskim brojkama kao eksponent, npr. ^1,2-4. U odjeljku literatura referencije se poredaju po rednom broju pojavljivanja.

Vrlo je važno ispravno oblikovati referencije prema detaljnim uputama. Donosimo primjer citiranja članka u časopisu:

• Autori: Ako djelo ima šest autora, navode se svi autori. Ako djelo ima više od šest autora, navodi ih se prvih šest, a ostali se označe kraticom et al. Prvo se navodi prezime, a potom inicijal imena. Više inicijala imena iste osobe piše se bez razmaka.
• Naslov i podnaslov rada prepisuju se iz izvornika i međusobno odvajaju dvotočkom. Naslovi časopisa skraćuju se u skladu sa sustavom kojim se koristi MEDLINE (popis kratica dostupan je na adresi: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nlmcatalog/journals). Naslov časopisa se ne skraćuje ako se on ne nalazi na prethodno navedenom popisu kratica.
• Numerički podatci o časopisu: Arapskim brojkama upisuju se podatci koji se mogu pronaći u samom izvorniku ili u nekoj bibliografskoj bazi podataka, i to sljedećim redom: godina, volumen ili svezak, sveščić ili broj (engl. issue ili number – no.), dio (engleski part), dodatak (engl. supplement ili suppl.), stranice (engl. pages). Broj sveščića upisuje se u okruglu zagradu, a obvezno ga je upisati ako paginacija (numeracija) svakoga sveščića počinje od 1. Stranice rada upisuju se od prve do zadnje. Kad god je to moguće, potrebno je navesti i jedinstveni identifikator referencije (DOI ili PMID).

Ponovno citiranje nekog rada treba označiti istim brojem pod kojim je prvi put spomenut.

Pri doslovnom navođenja izvatka iz drugog teksta uporabljuju se navodnici. Ovakvim načinom citiranja treba se koristiti samo u slučajevima kada se informacija ne može kvalitetno preformulirati ili sažeti (npr. pri navođenju definicija).

Sekundarno citiranje odnosi se na slučaj kada se autor koristi navodom iz djela kojemu nema pristup, nego je do navoda došao preko drugog rada u kojemu je izvorni rad citiran. Ovakav način citiranja treba izbjegavati kad god je to moguće, odnosno uvijek treba pokušati pronaći izvorno djelo. Ako to nije moguće, u popisu literature navodi se rad koji je zaista uporabljen, a ne rad u kojemu je informacija primarno objavljena.

General information on the Journal

Cardiologia Croatica, (ISSN of printed edition 1848-543X; ISSN of online edition 1848-5448; DOI: 10.15836), is an indexed bilingual journal of the Croatian Cardiac Society that is published six times a year as a bimonthly edition. Cardiologia Croatica publishes the following types of manuscripts from the field of cardiology: scientific and professional articles, review articles, short and preliminary communications, conference abstracts, news, book reviews, letters to the editor, and other contributions.

All manuscripts must be written in Croatian and/or English. Authors from the Republic of Croatia may submit manuscripts in Croatian and/or English, while authors outside the Republic of Croatia should submit manuscripts in English. If the manuscript is published, the cost of translation will be covered by Cardiologia Croatica.

When submitting a manuscript, the following information should be included in an accompanying letter:

• Manuscript title
• Full names and surnames of all authors
• A statement affirming that the results in the manuscript have not been published and that the manuscript is not in the process of review or publication in another journal
• The reasons for which the authors believe that the manuscript would be of interest to the readers of the Cardiologia Croatica
• Suggested classification of the manuscript
• Name and surname, full postal address, phone number, and e-mail of the author who will communicate with the Editorial Office of Cardiologia Croatica

Editorial Office

Manuscripts are submitted to the Editorial Office of Cardiologia Croatica via e-mail to kardio@kardio.hr. Every manuscript received by the Editorial Office is reviewed by the Editor in Chief. If the manuscript does not fulfill the criteria described in the Author Guidelines, the manuscript is returned to the author. Manuscripts that fulfil the criteria will be sent for peer review. All manuscripts undergo the same process of review regardless of the country of origin, as long as they follow and fulfill the criteria described in the Author Guidelines and do not fall outside the scope of Cardiologia Croatica.

Throughout the editorial process, Cardiologia Croatica follows all the COPE (Committee of Publication Ethics) guidelines – more details can be found at https://publicationethics.org/guidance/Guidelines – as well as the recommendations for behavior, reporting, editing, and publishing scientific articles in medically themed journals published by the (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) – more details at http://www.icmje.org/recommendations/.

The Editorial Office of Cardiologia Croatica promotes innovative sources of evidence-based data and guarantees their integrity in order to maintain the quality and influence of articles published in Cardiologia Croatica, according to the principles set out in the Sarajevo Declaration on Integrity and Visibility of Scholarly Publications (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5209927/).

Ethical codex

Cardiologia Croatica maintains the highest ethical and professional standards, which includes a zero-tolerance policy on plagiarism and other unacceptable forms of behavior within the academic community. Actions that will be treated as plagiarism are the following:

• Fabricating the results of a study and presenting them as real data.
• Manipulating the research procedure and deliberate alteration or omission of data.
• Appropriating the results, opinions, or evaluations of others without citing the sources from which they were taken.
• Misuse of the subject or materials used in the study, attempting cover-up of eventual breaches of ethical guidelines, misrepresenting interests, breaching confidentiality.

It is assumed that all authors of the manuscript are in agreement regarding publication and that no part of the manuscript has been published or is under review in another journal prior to publication in Cardiologia Croatica.

Articles published in Cardiologia Croatica may be published elsewhere without permission of the author, Editorial Office, or publisher as long as there is a citation indicating that the text was previously published in Cardiologia Croatica.

Conflict of interest

Cardiologia Croatica encourages all authors and peer reviewers to disclose any potential conflicts of interest in order to ensure transparency during the preparation and review of manuscripts. According to the ICMJE, conflict of interest is present if the author’s (or that of the institution that employs them) financial (employment, shareholding, professional fee), academic, intellectual, or personal relationships inappropriately influence their decisions (a more detailed explanation is available on the ICMJE webpage: http://www.icmje.org/conflicts-of-interest/).

Open Access

Cardiologia Croatica is an open access journal, and all its contents are available for free on the journal webpage.

Author copyright and licenses

After a manuscript is accepted, the authors must guarantee that all authorship rights to the manuscript have been transferred to Cardiologia Croatica. The publisher (Croatian Cardiac Society) and co-publisher (Medicinska naklada d.o.o.) have the right to reproduce and distribute the article in printed and electronic form without seeking approval from the authors.

All published manuscripts fall under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license, which allows users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link the full text of these articles in any medium or format. Furthermore, users may alter the text as long as the original article is properly cited, and all changes properly indicated. Article fees

The entire process of submission and publication of articles in Cardiologia Croatica is free.

Manuscript preparation

In addition to the full title of the manuscript and the names and surnames of all the authors, ORCID identifiers (https://orcid.org/register) and full names of affiliated institutions in English/Croatian should also be listed for all of the authors. When a manuscript has multiple authors, the corresponding author should be indicated along with a full postal address, phone, fax, and e-mail address.

All categorized manuscripts should consist of an abstract (maximum 250 words), keywords (up to 5 words), the text of the article which can include tables and/or figures, and the reference section.

Tables, graphs, and figures are only published in English. Figures should not be embedded in the text but should be submitted as separate documents in TIFF, JPG (JPEG), or PNG format in at least 300 DPI resolution. As an exception, figures submitted as PowerPoint or PDF documents may be accepted. It is recommended to submit graphs as Excel documents.

The length of the text, which should be written according to the ICMJE manuscript preparation (http://www.icmje.org/recommendations/browse/manuscript-preparation/preparing-for-submission.html) and saved as [document name]. doc or [document name].docx, should not exceed 4,500 characters with spaces, except for full categorized articles which can be up to 9,000 characters long. Article categorization is performed according to the Instructions for Journal Editors available at Hrčak, a portal for scientific journals in the Republic of Croatia (https://hrcak.srce.hr/index.php?show=text&str=redakcije).

Referencing instructions

Cardiologia Croatica uses the Vancouver citation style. References are numbered according to their first citation in the text using Arabic numerals in superscript, e.g. ^1,2-4. In the reference sections, references are listed according to the order in which they appear in the text.

It is very important to properly format the references according to detailed instructions bellow. We also present an example of how to reference journal article:

• Authors: If the reference has up to six authors, all authors should be listed. If the reference has more than six authors, the first six are listed and the others are indicated using the abbreviation et al. The surname is listed first, followed by the initial of the name. Multiple initials for the same person are written without spaces.
• The title and subtitle of the reference are copied from the original and separated with a colon. Journal titles are abbreviated according to the system used by MEDLINE (list of abbreviations available at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nlmcatalog/journals). The journal title is not abbreviated if it is not on the aforementioned list of abbreviations.
• Numerical journal data: Arabic numerals are used to enter data that can be found in the original text or in a bibliographic database, ordered as follows: year, volume, issue or number, part, supplement (or suppl.), pages. The issue number should be in parenthesis, and listing it is obligatory if the pagination of the journal starts from page one in each issue. Article pages are entered from first to last. Whenever possible, a unique identifier for the reference should be included as well (DOI or PMID).

Repeated citations of a reference in the text should use the same number as when it was initially cited.

Quotation marks are used when literally quoting from a different text. This form of citation should only be used when the information cannot be properly reformulated or summarized (e.g. when citing definitions).

Secondary citations are cases where the author is referencing a source, they do not have access to and is instead citing a secondary text where the original reference was cited. This form of citation should be avoided whenever possible, i.e. trying to locate the original source. If this is not possible, the reference list should cite the secondary text that was in fact used instead of the primary text in which the information was originally published.
